VS Code extension
Auto-save AI sessions with the VS Code extension
Conversations with AI coding tools inside VS Code (and VS Code-based editors like Cursor) tend to vanish when the editor closes. Install the SHISHO VS Code extension and Cline and Roo Code tasks are captured automatically on completion and saved to SHISHO.
What gets saved to SHISHO
- Cline / Roo Code tasks (your instructions and the AI's responses)
- Records of file edits and commands the AI performed
- An AI-written session summary
- Task completion time and workspace name
Setup steps
- 1
Open the Extensions panel in VS Code (or Cursor) with Ctrl+Shift+X.
- 2
Search for "SHISHO" and install it.
- 3
Run "SHISHO: Login" from the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) and sign in in the browser.
- 4
Done. A SHISHO icon appears in the status bar and sessions from supported tools are saved automatically.
